West Bengal real estate market to grow at 15 percent in 2012

Best Western, the world's largest hotel chain, is upbeat about the West Bengal's real estate outlook. Best Western plans to open a 150 room hotel near the airport by March next year. It is also looking for properties in Bengal's smaller cities like Siliguri, Darjeeling and Durgapur. The company already owns a 80-room property in Vedic Village, Rajarhat.

Bagaria group recently bought a two-acre plot from the Kolkata Municipal Corporation paying Rs. 57.5 crore per acre - one of the highest amounts paid for a plot in the city. They are planning to come up with a super luxurious residential project on this plot.
